Izaña: Where Your Hands Reach the Sky
Izaña is a magical place for paragliding lovers located in the Teide National Park and offers you the unique opportunity to fly from one of the highest paragliding spots in Europe. Located in the centre of Tenerife and with a take-off altitude of approximately 2,200 metres above sea level, Izaña allows you to experience an unforgettable flight. On the east side of the island and only 20 minutes away from Puertito de Güímar you will find take offs where you will have a view of the sea that you will never forget. With take-offs of around 400 square metres and at a height of between 700 and 800 metres above sea level, you will be able to observe the valley of Güímar, the Teide and Arafo. As it is located in the east of the island, the winds vary the difficulty and the most suitable time for a beginner flight would be in the morning, as the level at midday ranges from intermediate to high.
You should bear in mind that the town of Güímar is close to these take-off points, so care should be taken when landing. It is always advisable to go with instructors who know the area.
